Dyzelinis popcorn/traškėjimo žemėlapis. Sukuria išskirtinį išmetimo garsą dyzeliniuose varikliuose lėtėjant.
A diesel popcorn map is an ECU calibration that produces a distinctive crackling and popping sound from the exhaust on overrun — when you lift off the throttle or shift gears. This is sometimes called a diesel crackle map, burble tune, or popcorn tune. The effect is achieved by modifying the fuel injection strategy during deceleration to create small, controlled combustion events in the exhaust system that produce the characteristic popping sound.
It is important to understand that diesel popcorn is fundamentally different from petrol pops and bangs. On petrol engines, the effect is typically created by retarding ignition timing and injecting unburnt fuel into the exhaust. On diesel engines, the approach is different — the calibration adjusts the overrun fuel cut strategy, injection timing during deceleration, and in some cases the turbo wastegate behavior to create the crackling effect through the diesel combustion process.
During normal deceleration, the ECU cuts fuel injection to save fuel and reduce emissions. A popcorn map modifies this behavior by allowing small, precisely timed fuel injections to continue during the overrun phase. These injections create late combustion events that produce pressure pulses in the exhaust system, resulting in the popping and crackling sound.
The calibration is carefully controlled to produce the desired sound effect without excessive exhaust gas temperatures or unburnt fuel reaching the exhaust aftertreatment system. The intensity and character of the popcorn effect can be adjusted — from a subtle crackle to a more aggressive popping pattern — depending on your preference and the capabilities of your exhaust system.
Diesel popcorn produces a deep, rhythmic popping and crackling sound that is distinctly different from petrol pops and bangs. The sound is lower in pitch and more percussive — like popcorn kernels popping, which is where the name comes from. The effect is most pronounced with a performance exhaust or decat, as the factory exhaust system and DPF can muffle the sound significantly.
A diesel popcorn map works on most common-rail diesel engines, but the effect is best heard on vehicles with a performance exhaust system. If your vehicle still has the factory DPF and exhaust, the popping sound will be significantly reduced. For the best results, we recommend combining the popcorn map with DPF Off and a decat or performance exhaust.
The popcorn effect is available in different intensity levels. We will discuss your preference when you order and calibrate the map accordingly. A more aggressive setting produces louder and more frequent pops, while a milder setting gives a subtle crackle that is noticeable but not intrusive.
Send us your original ECU file and request the diesel popcorn map. Let us know your preferred intensity level and whether you have a performance exhaust or decat fitted. We will calibrate the overrun fuel strategy to produce the desired effect and deliver the file within 30–60 minutes, with checksum correction included.
Ne. Dyzelinis popcorn naudoja iš esmės kitokį metodą nei benzininis pops and bangs.
Ne. Kalibracija naudoja kontroliuojamus, tiksliai laiku atliekamus kuro įpurškimus, kurie sukuria garso efektą be per didelių išmetimo temperatūrų ar mechaninio streso.
Taip. Dyzelinis popcorn dažnai derinamas su DPF Off, EGR Off ir Stage 1 remap pilnam galios ir garso paketui.
Dyzelinio popcorn failai paprastai pristatomi per 30–60 minučių darbo valandomis.
