Everything on this page is free software we actually use during remote BMW sessions. When we install an FSC code, activate a factory feature like remote engine start, code a module or flash a Stage 1 file for a customer who does not want to touch a laptop, we connect to their computer over the internet and drive the session ourselves. To do that safely we rely on two small, well-known tools: a secure virtual network client and a remote-access utility. Both are listed above, with direct links and short guides.
You do not need any of this to buy a code from us. But if you have booked a remote coding or tuning appointment, installing these two programs before we start saves time and makes the session smooth.
A remote session sounds complicated but it is straightforward once you have the pieces in place. Here is the exact order of events for a typical appointment:
The whole thing usually takes one appointment, and it works anywhere in the world as long as you have a stable internet connection.
Radmin VPN (by Famatech) is a free, secure virtual LAN client. It creates a private network link between your laptop and our technician so the diagnostic connection behaves as if we were sitting next to your car. It is lightweight, widely used, and free for personal and commercial use. Download Radmin VPN and read the setup notes here.
RemoteConnect is a free remote-access utility that lets our technician see and control your laptop during the appointment, with your permission, for the duration of the session only. It is what makes it possible for us to run BMW E-Sys or the tuning tool on your machine while you follow along. Download RemoteConnect and see how to use it here.
| You need | Why |
|---|---|
| A Windows laptop | BMW E-Sys and the tuning tools run on Windows only |
| An ENET cable | Connects the car's OBD port to your laptop for coding and flashing |
| A stable internet connection | So we can join your laptop and keep the session live |
| A battery charger or maintainer | Keeps voltage stable so coding never fails mid-write |
| Radmin VPN + RemoteConnect | The two free tools on this page that let us connect and work |
Yes. Both tools are established, publicly available programs — not something we wrote ourselves. Radmin VPN is a long-standing product from Famatech, and RemoteConnect is a standard remote-access utility. We link to them because they are the ones we know and trust for BMW work. Remote access only runs while you allow it: you start the tools, you can see everything we do on your screen, and you close the session when the work is finished.
No. If you only want an FSC code to install yourself, you just need the code and an ENET cable. These tools are for customers who prefer us to do the coding remotely.
Yes, both are free to download and use. We do not charge for the software — only for the coding, activation or tuning work itself.
The BMW diagnostic and tuning software requires Windows, so a Windows laptop (or a Windows virtual machine) is needed for the actual session.
Remote access is active only during the appointment and only with your consent. You watch the whole session and end it when we are done.
We install FSC codes, activate factory features such as hidden BMW features, code modules, and flash Stage 1 tuning files — the same work we would do in person, done over the internet.
