These module generations are guidance, not a universal chassis map. BMW can use different hardware and software within the same model family. Registration year alone is not sufficient; approval always depends on the VIN, production data, ECU label, vehicle equipment and software state.

A used module is not automatically plug-and-play: depending on its generation and history, it may need to be professionally prepared, made suitable for reuse or supplied without an unrecoverable internal or crash-related state.
