How remote tuning works

All you need is:

  • Laptop
  • ENET cable
  • Internet connection
  1. Connect your ENET cable to the car's OBD2 port and to your laptop.
  2. Open UltraViewer on your laptop (TeamViewer or AnyDesk also work).
  3. Let our technician connect to your laptop and run the session while you watch.

Remote tuning means we work on your car the same way a workshop tech would, except the technician is in another country. The cable, the laptop, and the OBD2 port do the heavy lifting; we drive the keyboard.

After you book the appointment, you follow the three steps above. Our technician handles everything from there: reading the ECU, applying the requested changes, verifying the result, writing it back. The session itself usually takes 30–60 minutes depending on the service.

You provide the laptop (Windows), a stable internet connection, a 12V power source for the car (a battery charger is recommended for longer sessions), and an ENET cable for your model. ENET cables are widely available online — if you already own one, that works too. We provide the diagnostic software, the step-by-step instructions, and the live technician.

If anything goes wrong during the session — connection drop, software hiccup, anything — we restore the original ECU file before disconnecting. Nothing leaves your car worse than we found it.

These module generations are guidance, not a universal chassis map. BMW can use different hardware and software within the same model family. Registration year alone is not sufficient; approval always depends on the VIN, production data, ECU label, vehicle equipment and software state.

New and used replacement ACSM modules

A new module must have the correct BMW application and part-number relationship for the vehicle. A used module is not automatically plug-and-play: depending on its generation and history, it may need to be professionally prepared, made suitable for reuse or supplied without an unrecoverable internal or crash-related state.

Do not buy a replacement solely because the connector and housing look identical. Send both complete labels before purchase whenever possible. We will confirm whether the proposed module is suitable for the supported remote workflow or explain what additional preparation is required.

Clearing a diagnostic fault code is not the same as repairing its cause, and ordinary coding is not the same as EEPROM crash-data work. Tempadrive will not use coding, resistors or emulators to conceal a missing or defective safety component.

What must be repaired before the session

  • all deployed or defective airbags;
  • activated or defective seat-belt pretensioners;
  • the safety battery terminal and other pyrotechnic devices where applicable;
  • damaged crash and acceleration sensors;
  • seat-occupancy equipment and seat wiring;
  • damaged connectors, wiring harnesses, grounds and power supply;
  • water ingress, corrosion and physical module damage.

  • description of the original failure and all completed physical repairs;

  • stable internet that remains available while the vehicle interface is connected;

Can you code a used BMW airbag module?

Supported compatible used modules can be handled after case review, but they are not automatically plug-and-play. The module's part number, software, previous state and any required professional preparation must be confirmed first.

Can you clear crash data remotely through the OBD port?

Crash data is not ordinary coding or normal fault clearing. Some cases require module-specific bench work or replacement. Send the diagnostic report and module label for a separate assessment.

Can you code out a missing airbag or seat sensor?

No. Tempadrive does not hide unresolved restraint faults or use coding, resistors or emulators to make missing or defective safety equipment appear operational.

Can you convert between US and European airbag configurations?

Only a vehicle with verified technically correct and legally appropriate restraint hardware can be considered. This page does not sell routine coding around an incompatible single-stage or multi-stage airbag installation.

Which cable do I need?

It depends on the BMW generation and operation. E-series may use K+DCAN or ICOM Next, while many F- and G-series operations use ENET or ICOM Next. Newest vehicles may require an additional secure route. We confirm this before booking.
