Complete region conversion for imported BMWs (2007–2026): rear fog light coding, km/h speedometer, European radio frequencies, European navigation, tyre-pressure via ABS and airbag recoding — everything needed to register and drive a US import in Europe, done remotely.
All you need is:
Remote tuning means we work on your car the same way a workshop tech would, except the technician is in another country. The cable, the laptop, and the OBD2 port do the heavy lifting; we drive the keyboard.
After you book the appointment, you follow the three steps above. Our technician handles everything from there: reading the ECU, applying the requested changes, verifying the result, writing it back. The session itself usually takes 30–60 minutes depending on the service.
You provide the laptop (Windows), a stable internet connection, a 12V power source for the car (a battery charger is recommended for longer sessions), and an ENET cable for your model. ENET cables are widely available online — if you already own one, that works too. We provide the diagnostic software, the step-by-step instructions, and the live technician.
If anything goes wrong during the session — connection drop, software hiccup, anything — we restore the original ECU file before disconnecting. Nothing leaves your car worse than we found it.
Full Region Change is the complete conversion for a BMW brought in from another market, most often a US import coming to Europe. It covers all BMW models from 2007 to 2026 and fixes every region-specific problem that stops the car from passing inspection, registering, or simply working the way a European car should. It is done 100% remotely — the car never leaves your driveway.
This is the vehicle-wide conversion. If you only need the navigation region and maps changed, use our lighter Region Change (Head Unit) service. For the full background on importing and converting BMWs, read our guide: BMW Region Change: converting imported cars.
US-market cars are built without a rear fog light. In Europe a working rear fog is required, and its absence is a common reason a car fails technical inspection. We code the rear fog light function so it works and is recognised by the car before you take it for registration.
A US car shows speed in miles per hour. European inspection expects km/h. We switch the instrument cluster to display kilometres so the car passes and matches European speed limits.
The US and European FM bands use different tuning grids — the US steps in larger increments and skips stations that exist on the European 0.05–0.1 MHz grid. A US-region tuner simply cannot land on many European stations. We retune the radio to the European band so you actually receive local stations.
After an import the navigation typically shows an empty map and no vehicle position, because it is still set to the origin region with no European map data. We set the correct region and write European maps so navigation, positioning, POIs and speed limits all work. Free maps are also available in our BMW maps section.
Cars returning from the US — especially salvage or accident imports — often come back with wheels that have no TPMS sensors. We switch tyre-pressure monitoring from the direct (sensor-based) system to the indirect system, which reads wheel speed through the ABS. The pressure warning then works correctly even without physical sensors in the wheels.
US-market cars often use a different driver-airbag configuration to Europe. When a European replacement airbag is fitted to a US-spec car after a deployment, the airbag / ACSM module stores a fault and the airbag warning light stays on. We recode the module so it matches the installed airbag and the light clears.
We set the car's menus and voice to the language you want as part of the conversion.
Two of these items — the rear fog light and the km/h speedometer — are the ones inspectors check most often, and a car will not pass without them. Doing the full conversion in one session means the car is ready for the inspection lane and for daily use, with no leftover warning lights.
All BMW models from 2007 to 2026 — E-series, F-series and G-series. Send your VIN and describe where the car was imported from, and we will confirm exactly what your car needs.
From €100, depending on the model and how much of the conversion your car needs. Most full conversions fall in the €100–€300 range. Send your VIN for an exact quote.
Yes — the rear fog light and km/h speedometer are the two items inspectors look for on imports, and both are included.
No. We do not supply or fit airbags. We recode the airbag/ACSM module so it matches an airbag that has already been installed, which clears the fault light.
Yes, European navigation and maps are part of the full conversion. If that is all you need, the cheaper Region Change (Head Unit) service covers it on its own.
Yes, it is a remote session over ENET and works worldwide with a stable connection.
