This service is intended for supported vehicles with SME1/SME2 or HVS1/HVS2 after an SME, complete high-voltage battery, cell, or cell supervision circuit has already been replaced or repaired by a qualified high-voltage technician.

Important: “EOS bypass” on this page means a supported remote software and commissioning route after a completed repair. It does not disable BMW safety monitoring and it is not a substitute for the physical End-of-Service test, insulation test, leak test, voltage check, cell balancing or any other workshop procedure required for the battery.

Not every car needs every item in the table. NCD2.0, CBB, LCS and SecOC are different authorization or coding layers; including all four in a diagnosis when the vehicle only requires one would be misleading. TempaDrive selects the required route from the actual vehicle data.

What must be completed before the appointment

  • The high-voltage battery and vehicle must have been inspected and repaired by a qualified high-voltage technician.
  • All damaged cells, modules, cell supervision circuits, pyrofuses, contactors, safety-box parts, interlocks, wiring and cooling components must be repaired or replaced as required.
  • Replacement cell modules must be correctly selected, installed and brought to the required voltage/state-of-charge relationship using the applicable repair procedure.
  • The battery must be correctly sealed and must pass every physical electrical, insulation, cooling and leak test required for that platform.
  • The replacement SME/HVS part number and hardware generation must be compatible with the VIN.
  • The vehicle must have a healthy 12 V system and a regulated power supply suitable for programming work.

Remote software cannot make a damaged, incorrectly assembled or electrically unsafe battery operational. If diagnostics still show a physical insulation, contactor, cell-voltage, temperature, interlock or communication fault, that hardware problem must be corrected before commissioning can finish.

Not the same as SME crash-data reset

Does EOS bypass mean the battery can skip physical safety testing?

No. The physical repair, insulation, leak, voltage, cooling, contactor and other required safety checks remain the workshop's responsibility. The advertised route addresses supported software-side commissioning only.
