What is a Stage 2/3 Diesel Remap?

A Stage 2 or Stage 3 diesel remap is an advanced ECU calibration designed for vehicles that have been fitted with aftermarket hardware modifications. Unlike a Stage 1 remap — which works within the limits of factory hardware — Stage 2 and Stage 3 tunes push the engine further by taking advantage of upgraded components such as larger intercoolers, performance exhaust systems, uprated fuel injectors, and high-flow intake setups.

This level of tuning is intended for enthusiasts and professionals who want to extract the maximum potential from their diesel engine. Power gains of 30–50% over stock are typical, depending on the platform, hardware installed, and the specific calibration targets chosen.

How Does Stage 2/3 Tuning Work?

The process begins with your original ECU file, which is read from the vehicle using a compatible diagnostic tool. You send us the file along with details of the hardware modifications fitted to your vehicle. Our calibration engineers then adjust the fuel injection maps, boost pressure targets, rail pressure limits, torque limiters, and smoke maps to match the capabilities of your upgraded hardware.

Stage 2 calibrations typically target vehicles with a decat or sports exhaust and an upgraded intercooler. Stage 3 goes further, accounting for larger turbochargers, uprated fuel systems, and strengthened drivetrain components. Each file is built to order based on the specific combination of parts installed on your vehicle.

We will advise on the appropriate stage based on the modifications you have completed.
